Mariana Méndez Alejandre

Mariana Méndez Alejandre is a Mexican film producer based in New York City. She has produced several acclaimed short films including Zero Hour written by Oscar and BAFTA nominee Guillermo Arriaga. Her latest film under her production company banner Mindsoup Entertainment, Humo (Smoke), was shortlisted for the 96th Academy Awards® after premiering at the Annecy International Film Festival.

Since 2017, she has supported the execution of Academy Award® campaigns for entertainment companies such as Focus Features (Promising Young Woman, Harriet, Blackkklansman, Downton Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots, Belfast), Warner Bros. (Navalny, Motherless Brooklyn), Searchlight (A Hidden Life), Apple (Wolfwalkers) and GKIDS (The Boy and the Heron, Weathering With You, Mirai, Belle). As well as campaigns for the Oscar® winning shorts Skin (2019) & The Neighbor’s Window (2020), and the Oscar® nominated shorts Bestia (2022), Ala Kachuu – Take and Run (2022) and Le Pupille (2023).

Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and TV Production from the New York Film Academy and is currently an MBA candidate at New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
